Nature Layers ™

Nature Layer is a unique method to Bakehouse offering made-to-measure bespoke service but with an Anti-Fracturing technique. Nature Layer is a premium collection of paint-grade engineered hardwood doors, crafted with the similar exceptional quality and aesthetic that defines our solid hardwood layer offerings. Nature layer doors feature a multi-layer crossover construction made entirely from fine layers of hardwood—specifically engineered and rigorously tested to resist humidity and high temperatures without cracking or warping and very sustainable construction method minimising wastage.

This innovative door construction not only preserves the natural beauty and integrity of wood but also provides a durable solution perfectly suited for painted finishes. The result is a paint-grade door that combines the look and feel of solid wood with the performance of modern engineering for resistance and longevity in the fluctuating environments.

Beyond its technical excellence, the Nature Layer collection represents a sustainable approach to craftsmanship. By upcycling offcuts and smaller wood pieces, we ensure that even the smallest parts of each tree are given purpose and longevity. It’s our way of respecting nature—without compromising on quality or design.

Solid Wood

Our Solid Hardwood doors are always available to any specification, size, proportion, height, width, thickness or depth. Our doors can be manufactured from almost any compliant Hardwood timbers and built using traditional mortise and tenon joinery combined with solid wood frame construction, delivering unmatched strength, durability, and timeless quality. Mortise and tenon joints have been used for centuries in fine furniture (much like our heritage story) because they form incredibly strong connections without relying on screws or dowels. This method ensures your cabinet frames stay square and secure over decades of daily use, even in changing humidity or high-traffic environments like kitchens.

By using solid wood face frames, we create a rigid structure that resists warping, allows for precise door and drawer alignment, and holds up beautifully under the weight of countertops and hardware. Unlike mass-produced cabinetry made from particleboard or cam locks, our handcrafted approach offers not just a premium look, but true longevity and craftsmanship — a kitchen that’s built to last for generations.
